According to Daniel Jeremiah of movethesticks.com via twitter, restricted free agent linebacker Kirk Morrison is generating "a lot of buzz around the league" after the Raiders tendered him at the mere original pick level. "Someone will give up a third-rounder for him," Jeremiah states. Highly athletic and productive, Morrison could probably play any of the three linebacker positions. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to get a player of Morrison's caliber under these circumstances. Morrison is still fairly young at 28, very productive and cheap (under his tender level and current price to obtain him). If us Giant fans know Jerry, he'll certainly look into this. And if the Raiders are really looking to get rid of him, no team would have to offer Morrison a substantial contract for the Raiders to decline it.

Kirk is a good football player he would be a good asset to a team who already has a good middle line backer where he can play inside or outside. He does not have the balls to play middle linebacker once he is blocked thats it the play is over for him he cant shed it.
Morrison could play any 4-3 spot and inside in a 3-4. You have to believe any team in need of Linebackers is considering him. Eagles could put him in the middle and slide Bradley to SLB. Or the Chargers could finally have a good ILB for once.

Dude, Pierce is old and notoriously slow at this point, especially for the NFC East. On top of that he has a bulging disc in his neck. All that and a rumor that he couldn't pass a physical has lead to his release. So tell me again how we are regressing... especially since he's not even on our roster.
Pierce at his best was never better than Kirk Morrison. The Giants regress going from Pierce to Morrison is laughable.

Yea, he had 13 tackles, 3 assists and a forced fumble. And again we're not 'losing' anyone, he's gone, get it. Morrison would be an awesome upgrade for us. I could care less with the bitter Raider fan thinks as his owner opens up the flood gates.

Peirce was a borderline liability in 2008, and a huge liability this year. He was a sideline to sideline backer in his day, and once you are that type and lose that step you are utterly worthless
