Eagles QB Donovan McNabb To The Rams As Early As Friday?

Discussion in 'Philadelphia Eagles' started by BigBlueBruiser, Mar 4, 2010.

  1. Pro Football Talk claims that Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb could be a member of the St. Louis Rams by as early as Friday. The website is attributing its claim to a "tipster with a limited but viable track," and says that the Eagles want the Rams' second-round pick (33rd overall) in exchange for their long-time quarterback. While there are still many factors working toward such a deal taking place, the longevity of the rumors is hard to ignore.

If im that Eagles i'd jump on that, i like Kolb. If im the Rams i wouldnt, they arent close to competing so Mcnabb doesnt make sense to me, i think they'd be better served with Bradford or Clausen.

If this happens, I'm going to resign myself to the fact that this franchise is going to stink for at least the next decade.

Giving up a second rounder for an ageing diva on a non-competitive team would be such a serious mistake.

Couldn't of said it better myself...plus I would love to see McNabb stay in Philly...I love playing him twice a year.

its not too farfetched to think the rams couldnt put together a winning season under spags in the next year or 2....just sayin. falcons picked 3rd overall and made the playoffs the next year

The Falcons had a lot better team in place overall when they did that. The Rams are just a mess.

It makes your team immediately better. A hell of a lot better than it is today.

The team is building for the future. McNabb is not future.

neither is anything you have at qb and they'd be stupid to use an early pick this year on the future qb. not saying mcnabb is the answer but the rams would be wise not to spent a high pick on whats coming out. mo way they pass on suh with their 1st pick and no way they go after tebow with the 33rd and mccoy and bradford would most likely be gone. who else is ranked up there in the qb class coming out ?

Clausen and Bradford will be the first two gone. McCoy might be there, Tebow defintely will.

ahh, forgot the little faggy clausen. i'm weary on any of them that high up in the 1st round. mccoy would actually be an interesting pick at 33 now that i think about it.

How do you like Kolb the guy started half a game and let Ed Reed break his own record for longest interception return.

Smeagle, you have to look at it from a Rams perspective. The team is building to be competitive in a few years down the road, not now. McNabb will be 34 during the season, and it would be foolish to believe that we will see any more than two years of good production from him. Now, if we burn, say a fourth/fifth rounder then I'd be more than happy, but considering the level of youthful talent that will still be available at 33, it would be beyond foolish to pull the trigger on this.

I'm very high on Clausen, so my opinion on taking Suh/McCoy is a little skewed, but considering we have taken a D-Lineman two out of the last three first round draft pick and our line has actually been weaker, so please forgive me for being a bit gun shy.

IMO it makes competitive now and down the road you use McNabb to be semi good now and your draft pick QB sits and learns and then in a year or two he starts and has a couiplw yrs holding the clipboard and learning

very few rookie qb make it when they start that season, you guys dont want to David Carr him and then your back at square one
