What Should Dallas Do With Barber, Jones And Choice?

I know this question got a lot of buzz last season, But Im curious to know what fellow GIF members think- Heres MY opinion-

Keep all 3 at least one more season. I know Tashard has been quoted its hard because he loves the city of Dallas, but if he can get PT time some where else it will be a tough decision. Im not going to lie, IMO i think hes the most consistent back we have, i know some of you will think im crazy, HOWEVER, He has been healthy both seasons in the league, seeing him go would DEFFINITLY hurt. But if its what we gotta do, its what we gotta do, its a buisness after all..

Personell wise were not that far away from a deep playoff run...I want to see Smash, Dash, and Tash at LEAST one more year!

 

I think its time to move on from Barber. He is just making way too much for his production. I honestly dont expect him on the roster after the draft

 

I honestly think it's time to get rid of Barber as well. Barber is making how much? He hasn't lived up to what he's making.

 

6 million + per year

Signed it after 2007 when he was a RFA and just had a great year and looked like he was an ascending superstar

 

I like what Tashard Choice has done when he has gotten his chance. Felix Jones looks like he can be a beast IF he can stay healthy for a whole year.

 

What they should do is the one thing they won't. Start Tashard Choice he's the most complete back on that team. You have to keep Felix Jones hes just too explosive and has shown signs of greatness. You can't just keep all 3 longterm, it's expensive and they all 3 won't be happy with their carries. I would get rid of Barber.

 

Keep all 3 for the upcoming season. But make sure Barber knows his role. That he isn't the starting running back anymore and let him know that Choice will cut into his carries. And after the season release him or trade him. Barber still has value to us and theres no problem having 3 really good running backs.

 

I think Barber's fate is gonna be decided by what we do in the draft. If they weren't bullcrapting the drafting HB talk and actually do it, I think you could see Barber cut after the draft.

I dont know if anyone would trade for him, however if he agree's to resturcture his deal I could see him haveing some trade value. But why would he do that

 

I think we should start Tashard, Spell Felix in to keep him healthy. Tashard's never had any kind of signs of being injury prone. He's the most COMPLETE back on the team.Don't get me wrong, I love me some MB3... but for what he WAS... he is no longer. And that's a finisher. THere's no way in hell we give the ball to that dude 4 times in a row 2 years ago, and he doesn't get in the endzone on 1st and goal from the 1. It's happened a couple of times, he can't pick up the short yardage like he once could. And that's a problem. I didn't go with the " Keep all 3 " option cuz thats the easy way out imo if you're a Cowboys fan.. I say we need to trade Marion, get something out of him, even if it's just a draft pick to draft another RB who can contribute as the 3rd string RB like Tashard did.

Keep all three. Start Choice, play Felix in 3rd down and trick plays, insert Barber in the 4th quarter and watch him destroy worn out defenses.

How is Felix going to start if he's hurt all the damn time..

 

I have been saying start Choice for a while now but I just do not think it will happen. While I could see the upside to trading MB3 and drafting someone this year to be the third back again I just do not see this happening. I think we will go into this year with all three backs with Mb3 being the starter, Felix will push for the job but will get hurt in camp. I do think you will start to see Jones and Choice cut more inot MB3 workload than they have before.

 

Im still not buying the "injury prone" label with Jones yet

He never got hurt at Arkansas and had a freak injury his rookie year

Other than that freak toe injury and this year, there isnt an extensive history

 

i guess my frustration is because when choice hs gotten the chance he has proven himself, yet he is still 3rd on the depth chart.
