Tom Cable Wants An Every-Down Back To Emerge This Offseason

Discussion in 'Oakland Raiders' started by BigBlueBruiser, Mar 23, 2010.

  1. Raiders coach Tom Cable wants running back's Darren McFadden or Michael Bush to become an everydown back. That's one reason they released Justin Fargas. Time for the young kids to take over. "We'll move forward with those two guys," Cable said. "I think it will help both of them that they will get more work. The question with Darren is, now that he's healthy, can he be an everydown back? And I think he can be."

Darren McFadden has as the tools to be the Best Running Back in the NFL. If he learns how to USE his blockers, and let holes open up for him instead of running into his blockers - this guy could be something special.

Neither of them have the skills to be an "every down back". McFadden's too fragile and Bush is useless on 3rd downs except as a blocker...which is a good thing actually, considering our qb and line situation. They have great potential as a tandem but neither of them is going to be the guy on their own.

Macs legs are good for walking the runway not running against 300 lbs defensive guys as an every down back.

I disagree i think bush could be an every down back if he works hard on his conditioning i also believe Run DMC would be a good change of pace back who deserves touches at receiver and rb.
