Adam Schefter of ESPN reports via Twitter that Eagles head coach Andy Reid admits that the team has been entertaining calls on trade offers for his quarterbacks. "There has been some interest," Reid said. According to numerous front-office people from around the league, there is little-to-no market for Vick as a starting quarterback, and teams are hesitant to trade for Vick, given his publicly stated ambition of wanting to start this season. There is, however, a market for the 33-year-old McNabb, a six-time Pro Bowler, and the 25-year-old Kolb, who has thrown 130 passes in his three-year career with the Eagles. I wonder what this will mean for Reid if they do in fact trade McNabb Will he take it as a big "heck you Andy" and bounce after the season?
No way Reid would do something like that without discussing it with McNabb. He's a good guy, i don't think he would do something that to sever a relationship that's been good
reid doesn't have final say anymore. that authority went when banner put his puppet roseman in the gm position. reid wants mcnabb - the front office wants to trade him.
if i got my way he'd be gone after the team fails to make reach .500 next season but i don't see that happening. in other words i have no clue. :icon_redface:
How do you know the front office wants to trade him? Because they have felt out what sort of offers they might get? That does not mean they WANT to trade him. It means they are doing their jobs. Good for them. To say that the front office and Reid are in some sort of a fight over what to do with him is ridiculous.
oh really ? how do you know they don't ? huh ? that's right, you don't. there are certain things that have taken place that point to the likely possibility that things are changing within the eagles top brass and there is way too much talk among people who have an inside track on the team that frankly have more of a clue then you do and they all say with the exception of reid's nut sucker eskin, that reid has lost final say and that he differs with banner/roseman on the idea of trading mcnabb. but yeah, you know more.
My evidence is what's occurred for the past DECADE and that those same certain people have been saying the SAME CRAP FOR 5 YEARS and when have they been right? NEVER. Until something actually changes then as far as I am concerned It's all just more toxic crap from Negadelphia. The same people suggesting that the brass might be in a feud with Reid over what to do with McNabb are the same dumb asses who have wanted Reid and McNabb gone for years.
:rollinglaugh: yep, just as i thought, a you have zero clue about it and are just basing your opinion on assinie sterotyical thinking. bravo doctor ! so guys like ray didinger, ron jawroski, mike missinelli and ike freaking resse plus others who haven't been saying the same old crap for years are just all of sudden trying to stir crap up. yeah, that's it.
I'm calling it as I see it based on what I have read and heard. Are you saying that ray didinger, ron jawroski, mike missinelli and ike freaking reese are all claming that Reid and the front office are fighting over what to do with McNabb? If so send me links and I will apologize for being wrong. Until them I am reading/hearing the same anti reid diatribe that sells papers and radio time every offseason in Negadelphia.
http://gridironfans.com/forums/late...reid-donovan-mcnabb-havent-spoken-months.html makes this more interesting
everyone is saying how close and loyal Reid is to Mc5 - they haven't spoken in months. Using the recent stories about Tomlin and the ladies man Big Ben they speak almost daily. Reid and Mc5 aren't that close so his loyalty isn't what it is made out to be. how's that?
McNabb isn't being accused of rape for the second time. How is that? Seriously though..... I don't make much out of Reid's "loyalty" to McNabb and I never have. I think that argument for why McNabb will return as the Eagles QB has always been hogwash. The reason he will be back is he is still the best chance the Eagles have at winning and Reid knows that. That's different then loyalty. You may disagree but Reid has been clear that that is his opinon. Does that mean he won't trade him if he gets an offer too good to refuse? No it doesn't. The article sounds like they had some big break up... "haven't spoken in months" For christ's sake they were playing football (albeit a pathetic excuse for playing football) together on January 9th. That's not very long ago. Who gives a heck if they have been chatting on the phone over the past 2 months. 5 has been resting in Arizona with his family. Reid should have been doing the same and then getting to work on free agency and the draft.
Sounds like the Niners may indeed have a new QB1 before the draft...that false story may become a reality...
