The Miami Dolphins have retained two exclusive-rights free agents with qualifying offers: wide receiver Davone Bess and kicker Dan Carpenter. Bess caught 76 passes for 758 yards and two touchdowns last season. Carpenter was an injury replacement at the Pro Bowl after converting 25 of 28 field goals last season, including a long conversion from 52 yards. Source: National Football Post
Good move, I like Bess a lot...if he got in the right system he'd be manie. I was shocked when he went undrafted, I didn't expect him to go high but to not go at all was crazy. Too much system stigma attached IMO coming from that stupid run n' shoot. Miami got a steal picking him up on the cheap.
Ireland's got a knack for the late portion of the draft and UDFA's Tony Romo, Jay Ratliff, Miles Austin, Matt Moore, Patrick Crayton, Stephan Bowen, Alan Ball all guys Ireland brought in either in the 7th or as a UDFA while in Dallas
