A league source tells ESPN.com that the Rams will hold a private workout for Texas QB Colt McCoy in Austin before the NFL draft begins April 22. The exact date of the workout is unknown. This is an interesting development because the Rams are the favorites to draft Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford with the No. 1 overall pick but a source said St. Louis continues to turn over every rock, and hasn't completely ruled out an alternative plan, in which the team might select McCoy at the start of the second round (No. 33 overall), while selecting another player with its top pick, presumably Oklahoma defensive lineman Gerald McCoy or Nebraska's Ndamukong Suh. Bradford or McCoy? That's like being asked whether you'd rather have chronic vomiting or diarrhoea. Honestly, unless we take Clausen, or we look at Jarrett Brown/Dan LeFevour in the mid rounds, we should forget about QB.
