Beginning his third season, Redskins wide receiver Devin Thomas said he's ready to assume a bigger role in the offense and locker room. "I just feel like this is my time to step up and really be a leader around here," Thomas said the other day at Redskins Park. "I've finally matured to the point where I'm ready for that role. So I definitely look forward to taking on that challenge." Thomas moved ahead of Malcolm Kelly during the middle of the season and showed encouraging signs as the starting flanker. During a 33-30 loss in overtime in Week 13 to the New Orleans Saints, Thomas established career highs with seven receptions for 100 yards (a 14.3-yard average), two touchdowns and finished the season with 25 receptions for 325 yards (a 13.0-yard average) and three touchdowns. Thomas is going to be a freaking monster with the team. Kelly will be in the mix a lot more now with Randle El being gone too. Can't wait to see!
Why because we arent buying a WR that has caught all of 40 pass's in career becomeing a team leader. If your buying it, thats pure bred homerism. If it actually happens, then that show's how sad of a state the Redskins are in
His first season in the NFL he barely played due to injuries and even when he did he scored a touchdown. This past season, goobered Jim Zorn play calling didn't help him out, let alone a line that wouldn't hold long enough for his QB to pass him the ball. When he gets the ball, he's dangerous, he averages 13 yards a catch. Hell I remember the game against the Broncos on 3rd and 3. He should have had no gain if not a loss on the play, yet he turned it into a 25 yard gain while breaking 4 tackles. He's only getting better. It's whatever though, sit back and laugh, enjoy the off season, I'll watch him grow and turn into a beast.
Ya........and he still only caught 40 pass's in two years. If he establishes himself as any kind of leader, the Redskins are truly hecked
