Rams Confident Oklahoma QB Sam Bradford Is Healthy

At the NFL scouting combine one month ago, Rams general manager Billy Devaney said the team planned to have an independent third party - a "neutral" doctor, if you will - check out quarterback Sam Bradford's surgically repaired throwing shoulder. Those plans have been scratched. "At that point, (the shoulder) was such a big question mark," Devaney said Wednesday. "Since then, we've talked to so many people that have looked at him from other teams. And our doctors - they've gone over him with a fine-tooth comb - we're completely satisfied. We don't need a follow-up." Bradford's impressive performance at his pro day only underscored those feelings. "He looked as good as advertised," Devaney said. "You wanted to see if he still had his fastball; if his throwing motion was the same; if he was throwing free and easy, and he answered all of that."

Healthy? maybe. Good prospect? perhaps. A good choice for #1 overall? Absolutely not.

If you're going to dish out that kind of money, he's the only good choice.

It sure is funny how many ''experts'' we have on the internet.

If they pass on Bradford, they fail as an organization yet again. I can play expert, too.

Dude Clausen is a much better prospect with a much higher ceiling. Bradford comes from a gimmick college offense and has had major surgery and hasn't played football in almost a whole year. And I never said I was an expert, so yeah seems as if you failed.

    Wrong.

If Sam Bradford had come out last season, he would have been the first quarterback taken. If Sam Bradford doesn't go down with that injury, we aren't even discussing this - he's the first guy taken. It's all whether or not he's healthy, and he is. He's the best QB prospect in the last two draft classes, with comparisons to Matt Ryan. I guess you haven't seen much of Bradford. The St. Louis Rams passed on both Ryan and Sanchez, to build up both of our lines. We need a franchise quarterback now. Who should we pick? Suh and his busted butt knees? Yeah. he's a much safer pick.

As bad as the Rams organization is, even their blind asses can't mess this one up.

Oh, and I laugh at the whole Jimmy Clausen thing - Washington can have him. After all, he is ''pro ready.''

All of this Washington/Clausen talk, is simply because Washington doesn't expect Bradford to be there when they pick. Make no mistake about it - If Sam Bradford and Jimmy Clausen are both there when Washington picks, and Washington's main priority is QB, they will take Sam Bradford. We can argue about this all we want, but come draft day, we'll see which QB is taken first - and there will be a good reason for it - Sam Bradford is the better prospect.

Better prospect based on what? The pick should be Clausen, Bradford is not ready to play in a pro style offense. But believe what you want about him. I will say this, I really hope you still like Bradford when the Rams are continuing to battle for the #1 overall pick.

Ask every team looking for a quarterback, including Washington.. and they'll tell you based on what.

I said it last week, and I'll say it again - it doesn't matter where Sam Bradford falls, he will be the first quarterback taken, by any team that needs one... and yes, that includes Washington, who at this very moment, are drooling over the slight possibility he falls to them.

Jimmy Clausen is an after thought - I'm not even sure if Clausen is rated higher than Colt Mccoy on Washington's draft board. If the Rams even consider Jimmy Clausen as the #1 pick, and let it leak out, I'll fall on the ground in laughter.

Well with the looks of things. THe Rams are in need of a QB so I dont see any reason why they shouldnt take him at #1

    1. Health Concerns
    2. Noodle Arm
    3. Spread Offense
    4. Only performs against flimsy Big 12 D's
    5. Has had an amazing team around him throughout his college career

Five reasons why we shouldn't take him at number one. If we want a Bradford type QB we should just wait until the second and take Colt McCoy, the only difference is that Colt is smaller.

I don't care if Clausen is an butthole and isn't a likable guy, I'd much rather have a guy who knows what it's like to play in a pro offense and succeed even when his supporting cast is awful. If we could get Brandon Marshall with the 2nd/3rd rounder, then suddenly we have gained ourselves a potent offense.

Sam Bradford has a good arm, not great, not bad. He can make any throw in the NFL. Sam Bradford is also familar with the so called ''pro style offense.'' Have any of you actually watched the guy play?

His health isn't anymore of a concern than the guy we'd be taking, if not Bradord - Suh.

You guys wouldn't happen to work for NFL Network, would you? If not, I hear they have a few openings.

Well I hope your right, but to be honest, I don't know how this doesn't set the franchise back five years.

I'm just curious where all of these rumors are coming from. I can understand the concern about the shoulder, but all of this pro style offense, weak arm stuff, I'm not seeing.... You can ask any NFL scout, GM, owner about Sam Bradford, and you'll see the following things listed as positives...

    1. Leadership.
    2. Good arm strength, can make any NFL throw (They're saying his arm is stronger than ever.)
    3. Is familiar with the pro style offense..
    4. Great accuracy.
    5. Rarely makes mistakes.

We can argue about whether or not Bradford will fail in the NFL for years, but we're talking about right now... and right now, there is no question who the better NFL prospect is. If Sam Bradford doesn't get taken by the Rams, he's still going to be the first quarterback taken, for the reasons listed above. Hell, I wouldn't be shocked if a couple teams have Colt Mccoy listed ahead of Jimmy Clausen - if the Rams were to take Jimmy Clausen at #1, I'd be in shock, which would then turn into anger, and by the end of the day, I'd have to laugh about it, because it would be such an ignorant decision, there's not much else for a person to do, but laugh.

If you're saying that we should draft a guy like Suh, and grab Colt Mccoy in round 2, I'm all for that... but if we're arguing about which quarterback is worthy of being taken first, there isn't any argument - it's Sam Bradford.

To be honest I probably tolerate Bradford as a prospect at the moment more than I have in the last two years. I would still have Clausen miles ahead of him but I guess it comes down to just having different opinions.

As long as McNabb isn't in a Rams uniform after the draft, I think any outcome is positive.

Now there's something we can agree on. I didn't buy into the whole Mcnabb/St Louis rumor to begin with, but if it ever did happen, I'd be looking for a new team.

Theres no way in hell Sam Bradford can throw an 18-yard deep out. Or fit the ball through a small window in a 20-yard dig. Bye-bye "any throw" argument.
