Spiller likely to be long gone by the time San Diego picks at No. 28 and Fresno State's Ryan Mathews quickly climbing draft boards, there might not be a worthy back available at that spot, and GM A.J. Smith won't reach for a position he knows could present value in the later rounds. From what Pro Football Weekly hears, Smith instead could have his sights set on a cornerback with the 28th selection and with Antonio Cromartie being shipped off to the Jets, the depth is shaky behind new starter Antoine Cason, Smith has a history of drafting corners in the first round, having done so in '06 and '08. I like the prospects of selecting a CB for the Chargers (they are my team in the GIF draft) and makes sense unless there is another prospect that is too good to pass up at another position.
NCB's are of high value in today's NFL. Without 3 good CB's, you are gonna have a hard time fielding a good defense. Also Jammer is 30 years old, he may need to be replaced on 2 years
