Earlier in the week, before the Broncos cut ties with Brandon Marshall, their pre-draft meeting with prospect Dez Bryant could have a large bearing on what the team does the No. 11 pick and since then, with Marshall's exit, the intrigue has only heightened that Bryant might be calling Denver home after next Thursday. And when coach Josh McDaniels held his pre-draft news conference Friday, he did nothing to dispel the ideas in this blog space. McDaniels spoke glowingly about Bryant, and a number of other prospects who visited, according to The Denver Post, during the session, but he was careful to draw a line between Bryant supposedly having off-field issues and simply making mistakes. "I think you have to be careful with confusing character issues with some people that made some mistakes," McDaniels said. "This guy has never been arrested, he's never had a drinking issue, he's never done anything that's put him in that position. He's made a few mistakes that he wishes he hadn't made. But I think there's a difference. We enjoyed our visit with him. He did everything we asked him to do, and had a smile on his face. We enjoyed the entire visit and he did well." Source: NFL.com
He is a tremendous athlete it's just a shame that like Marshall he comes with some off-field issues. Of course, there's always the potential of the next Randy Moss* slipping by if you pass up someone because of their off-field problems. * - Not directly comparing Moss and Bryant, just making a general statement.
