Rams Have No Interest In Trading For Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger

Discussion in 'St. Louis Rams' started by BigBlueBruiser, Apr 21, 2010.

  1. Jason La Canfora of NFL.com reports via twitter that the Pittsburgh Steelers had a very brief talk with the St. Louis Rams over the weekend about a trade for quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. La Canfora writes that the Rams had no interest in acquiring Roethlisberger. La Canfora says that the Steelers hoped to acquire the No. 1 overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft but it appears that trading Roethlisberger is now almost impossible.

I don't know about NO possibility.,,

  3. According to Adam Schefter, all the teams that debated for Donovan McNabb is back in play on Ben Roethlisberger.

    Except the Browns...

  5. They never were serious bidders for McNabb so I'm guessing Schefter's report is for all the teams that actually expressed interest for Donovan are interested In Roethlisberger.

They were interested, they just called way earlier than everyone else, so the price was still higher than what he went for.

  7. Regardless, unlike the McNabb trade, theres no chance in hell the Steelers would even consider trading Roethlisberger within the AFC North.

  9. Very surprising the Steelers actually contacted Cleveland seeing if they had interest in Roethlisberger. With all the moves we have seen this offseason, I guess nothing is off limits.

None of those teams should hesitate if all the Steelers want is a single first. Ben, despite his douchebaggery, is 10X the QB anyone in this draft ever will be.

Now if Ben had a weak arm and a dodgy shoulder, we'd be all over that!

Nah, I'm talking about the larger, overhyped version we're about to blow $50 million guarenteed on.

While I'm not convinced Bradford is the piece of trash a lot of others do, the Rams fans can just look at it like this; get Bradford, he's terrible and flames out, and then you have the chance to grab another grocery sacker to win you a Super Bowl.

I don't know that Bradford is necessarily TRASH, but he's certainly not the franchise QB he's being made out to be, and nowhere close to being worth the #1 overall pick.

So, Sam Bradford has a weak arm?

I'm glad I registered here - I learn something new every day.

    Thanks, buddy.

It's not as weak as McCoy's, but he certainly doesn't have a cannon, and with his shoulder issues it's not going to get any stronger as he ages. Right now his arm strength is definitely adequate, no more than that...nowhere near "elite" level. Still, plenty of guys who don't have the greatest arms do just fine in the league. IMO the whole arm strength thing is a highly overrated issue...there are numerous other factors that are far more important to a quarterbacks success than his arm strength.

Other factors such as spending your college career against Cupcake D's and playing in a spread offense.
