Offensive tackle Alex Barron plans to sign his tender offer as a restricted free agent and participate in the Rams’ OTAs as well as the mandatory minicamp, his agent told the Post-Dispatch. The practices known as OTAs — short for organized team activities — begin May 18 and the Rams’ mandatory full-squad minicamp takes place June 10-12 but now that the draft has come and gone, the Rams’ trade options are limited to a veteran player or a 2011 draft pick for Barron. … Or Barron could be gone. General manager Billy Devaney has shown no reluctance to release or trade players drafted or signed before he was hired by the Rams. Source: St. Louis Post-Dispatch
As much as I dislike Barron's play, I wouldn't mind him sticking around at RT just until Saffold is ready. People may slate our line, but if everyone can stay healthy, Bradford may actually have a chance of not sucking so much.
He was, but hasn't progressed since. He gives up silly amounts of penalties and simply isn't reliable as a starter.
