Just over a month into the Bears offseason program, first-year offensive coordinator Mike Martz has formed at least one definitive opinion about his players. “I love our receivers,†Martz said Sunday after rookie minicamp ended. “I think that our receiver corps will be the strength of this team. You can put that in granite. I can promise you that one. There’s not very many things I would say are unretractable, but that one is pretty strong. This will be the strength of this football team. It’s a terrific group.†Receivers who’ve been working with Martz include Devin Aromashodu, Earl Bennett, Rashied Davis, Devin Hester, Juaquin Iglesias, Johnny Knox and Eric Peterman. The Bears aren’t expected to bring in a veteran receiver in part because they don’t want to stunt the growth of their inexperienced players at the position but they’ll continue to monitor the situation.

Martz drowns in a pool of his own self worth. It's the same thing as with McDaniels and Belechick, who surround themselves with sub-par talent just to reinforce their "superiority".

i am somewhat amazed that the bears once again did not address the WR position this off-season. they really feel strongly about this particular WR corps. they better improve this season because they can't survive on offense without these receivers improving.
