Matt Leinart's first practice since the retirement of Kurt Warner didn't go the way the Cardinals' quarterback would have liked, but his second practice was much improved and the team hopes it's a sign of things to come as Leinart is sitting in the driver's seat to start for the team, ahead of friend and fellow NFL veteran Derek Anderson. Leinart has shown flashes of greatness in the past, throwing for an NFL rookie-record 405 yards in a game against Minnesota in 2006, but he struggled against the Packers in Week 17 last season and has in fact not done well since his rookie year. But head coach Ken Whisenhunt said likes how Leinart is approaching this year and has indicated he wasn't concerned about how last year ended. "There's a little bit different feel with Matt," Whisenhunt said. "He knows now he's the guy. He's the one everybody's looking at. It's different when you've got Kurt Warner here with everything he brings. I don't see any difference as far as the time Matt's putting in or how hard he's working on the field." Source: CBS Sports
I heard some AZ fans are questioning his citizenship status to try and get him deported so he doesn't screw up the team.
