Despite reports that rookie QB Jimmy Clausen turned heads in his first minicamp and could push Matt Moore for the starting spot in training camp, Pro Football Weekly hears it's still Moore's job to lose. The Panthers made it clear that Moore would be the starter in 2010 before the draft, but speculation about his status began after Carolina took Clausen in the second round. While head coach John Fox has not explicitly said the starting spot is open for competition, there is a perception that Fox, in his contract year, would be willing to name Clausen the starter for Week One if the rookie outplayed Moore in the preseason. We'll see. Depends on how Fox feels about Moore. (ex. Delhomme, DeShaun Foster) Once Fox is loyal to a starter, that starter has to actually murder someone on national TV to put him on the bench (Or something along those lines.) I actually think our preseason may be intresting, beyond the "Football Fix".
Claussen needs to sit, he'll struggle if he starts as a rookie A good year and Moore could be worth a 1st rounder to someone
clausen needs to sit way less than the sam bradfords of the world....he will be able to matt ryan that crap from day one, no doubt in my mind. if stafford, ryan, freakin sanchez can start from day one clausen may very well come in and dominate from day one
id take that bet, hes just not a pick thrower. im saying with him the panthers compete in that division
