If you're wondering where last week's media-driven back-and-forth with Donovan McNabb left DeSean Jackson, the answer last night was that it left him sitting in front of a rack of polo shirts at the Modell's in Mount Laurel, N.J., signing autographs for a steady stream of patrons, and acting very skittish about reigniting the controversy. Jackson, the Eagles' Pro Bowl wideout and punt returner, made it clear he didn't want to discuss anything relating to McNabb. That point was reiterated by public relations handler Bobby McRae, who took the lone reporter present aside to reinforce that Jackson was available to discuss the Eagles (presumably, at positions other than quarterback) and his upcoming football camps for kids. Alas, DJax, with the McNabb hoo-ha still fresh, didn't think that was anything he ought to be talking about either and knows last week's activities reignited fears of incipient divahood among fans who have been on the alert for that ever since his reputation preceeded him into the 2008 draft. Two exceptional seasons as a hard worker and a leader put all that stuff on the back burner, but it will probably never completely go away. "They think I'm the new T.O.," he said. Blah blah blah. McNabb's whiny butt shoulda just let it go. Jax has a new QB now, of course he's going to talk him up.
DJax is a true punk who benefited from McNabb as his QB. I would look for his numbers to drop significantly this season with Kolb as the QB. Might keep his attitude at bay but i doubt it.
Well to be fair that was 1 game vs the hapless Chiefs and the Saints game was such a blowout early, the entire game was pass plays, 52 pass vs 22 Rush. I would project seasonal stats based on those 2 games.
says the Redskin fan who posts more antagonistic bullcrap about the Eagles than anything about his own supposed favorite team.
the only negative comments in this thread are from fans of teams in the nfc east. wow, that's a shock.
I'm an Eagles fan and I wish he'd just STFU and not even comment. He's trying to be the next T.O. without the talent. When he goes over the middle and takes the hit, I'll say he's a threat. 5 could chuck a bomb without effort, Kolb isn't that. 5 could extend a play and get Jackson wide open, Kolb hasn't/doesn't. If Jackson has a great year with Kolb as his regular QB, then he can talk all the crap he wants. Until that happens, just shut up and play!
No big deal... Jackson's just doing what WRs do. Business as usual. Keep me entertained on the field while saying whatever you want cuz that's all I'm interested in, DeSean.
