Roy Williams made a bold, if unfounded, proclamation Wednesday. He is still a starter at wide receiver for the Cowboys. "Like I said when I first got here, ain't no such thing as me sitting on the bench," Williams said while participating in a golf outing with the team's corporate sponsors. "Never in my life." For the first time in his career, Roy Williams faces a prove-it season and does not start merely by showing up for duty. Something as seemingly trivial as his weight could become important to the Cowboys' lineup decisions. By Williams' admission, last season was a drop-filled, confidence-sapping disaster, he tied for 107th in the NFL with 38 receptions and finished the season as an invisible man in the Cowboys' passing game with Quarterback Tony Romo throwing only one pass near Williams in the final six quarters. That sent Williams into an off-season of soul-searching and workouts, and as he tried to get stronger, the Cowboys tried to get better at wide receiver by maneuvering in the first round of the draft to select the gifted Dez Bryant. You shouldn't have been the starter this year and I suppose after about 3 weeks you won't be starting anymore
Maybe he's got some kind of soft finger guru living in his mouth that is speaking for him? :dontknow:
Whether I got owned or not, the fact is you guys traded a 1st rounder for him...and like 2 3rds. The Pats traded a 3rd rounder to the Raiders for Randy Moss and he has tripled, if not quadrupled Williams production.
eh, wasnt point to ' own ' you.. i was just being stupid, he should be averaging 8 a year at least. but, when its your player, someone wearing the jersey you love.. and he's not disgracing it off the field, then you want more then anything to see those players succeed, and i just hope he shows up on Sundays this season, you add what Miles did, and what Dez has the ability to do... who's stopping our offense? But, Roy has to step up and be the player he CAN Be.
