Michael Lombardi of the National Football Post writes that according to sources he's talked to in the NFL, former Raiders first-round pick JaMarcus Russell apparently is running out of options. Cincinnati isn't interested, and several teams are exploring the possibility of Russell playing another position. Russell needs to be more proactive to get back in the NFL, and if that means turning to the CFL, he must explore that option. Waiting for his phone to ring from an NFL team is not going to happen. He isn't a QB....no one in their right mind is going to sign him to play that position. :icon_cheesygrin:
Russell to Toronto? My guess, if it's the CFL it'll be with Toronto (the same team Ricky Williams played for). The Argos are always signing NFL castoffs and are currently competing with the NFL market. Also, look for him to explore the UFL. This seems a likely option for a quick road back to the NFL. I don't think there is any hope for this guy being successful in the NFL, even if he tries to rebuild his career in another league
By "another position" I assume they mean offensive line right? LOL Say what you will about Ryan Leaf but even he was able to get a 2nd chance in the NFL after his failure in San Diego. That is why I think Russell is the bigger bust........not even able to get a 2nd team to sign him.
i still dont understand why buffalo wont take a chance.....they didnt draft any 1 of the top rated QB's, didnt do anything in the offseason to upgrade their qb's.......just give him a 1 year chance, maybe he wont even see the field lol....just keep him there just in case
