Newly-minted Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones said he has learned his lesson after being out of football because of his misdeeds. After a time he called miserable, Jones said he's a changed man and will make the most of a two-year contract and a fresh start after running into trouble with the Tennessee Titans and the Dallas Cowboys. "Of course, you change as you grow," Jones said. "Like I said, it ain't overnight. I'm 26 years old now, so I can't do the same things I was doing at 21, or I'm going to be dead or in jail. I know what my passion is, and my passion is football. I know what I've got to do to keep playing football, and that's what I'm working on doing." What did Jones do while he was suspended? What did he think about when the Cowboys released him? "I did a lot of soul-searching," Jones said. "That's why I'm right here talking to you all. I did a lot of soul-searching, I did a lot of corrections, everything. Right now, everything is pretty good -- family-wise, spiritual, mentally. I'm at ease right now, I should say."

in reality, as pacman started running out of money, he has made the decision to clean his crap up to stay in the league. unfortunately, most likely what will happen is that he will keep his nose clean for a couple of years (just enough time to get another contract -- a bigger long term one) and then he'll fall back into his old routine after he has money rolling in again.

Nobody will believe this unless he proves them wrong by his actions off the field. Only time will tell.

The biggest influence to getting his act together was the intervention by his accountant. Regardless if somehow he stays on the straight & narrow, the prospect of being broke, out of the NFL, & changing careers to "Want fries with that?" will be the driving force long before maturity will be.
