New Orleans Saints Malcolm Jenkins has officially moved from cornerback to free safety. He was working with the second-team defense while Usama Yoing ran with the 1s at free safety. Veteran Darren Sharper isn't expected to practice until training camp as he recovers from knee surgery. With Sharper working on a one-year deal, Jenkins will likely be an inside defensive back in nickel and dime packages this season. Jenkins could be the full-time free safety as soon as 2011. if anyone thought jenkins was going to be more than a S in this league, then they were just fooling themselves.
i remember wayyyy back in 2007 and 2008 all i said was yeah he will go the antrel rolle way and move to safety if not immediately then in a year or 2. hes got good ball skills, hes an excellent tackler, but hes slow. there was a thread last year called "Malcolm Jenkins: More than a 40 time" well, in that thread i said he would be a FS in one year and some people were really on his nuts (JJ) comparing him to nnamdi. moral of this story: im always right
