The calendar rules against joint practices with the Oakland Raiders in August, Dallas Cowboys coach Wade Phillips said. The San Francisco Chronicle, citing an unnamed Oakland player as the source, recently reported the Raiders could practice with the Cowboys before an exhibition game at Cowboys Stadium on Aug. 12. Phillips said that "isn't a good fit.'' The Cowboys play in the Hall of Fame exhibition opener at Canton, Ohio, on Aug. 8 and will have a limited practice schedule before playing the Raiders and a joint practice under those conditions would not be productive. "It would be unlikely we'd do it that week,'' Phillips said. With the Cowboys in Oxnard and the Raiders in Napa, the teams will be apart 330 miles apart within the state of California for about two weeks beginning on Aug. 14. Joint practices could be on the rise in coming years. Commissioner Roger Goodell has suggested joint practices could fill the void created by eliminated exhibitions as the NFL moves toward an expanded regular-season schedule.

I don't blame Phillips ............ coaches want their players to practice against teams that are as good or better than them because it makes them better ............... why would he want his team to practice against a high-school caliber club? ......... :icon_cheesygrin:

Just an FYI the Cap'n doesn't have a favorite team, so mocking the Bears doesn't get him riled up.

You should be picking on me dude.

I hate the freaking Raiders. :icon_cheesygrin:

No personal attacks out of Figh Club dude, calling someone a q***r might fall into that category.

He's a football coach for a junior league and just wants to discuss football.

Personally I wish he was a Chiefs fan since he lives here in KC, but I respect his decision not to have a favorite team.

oops my bad? bashing teams is not discussing, i guess it must be nice but i find it impossible to watch football and not have a team, then whats the point.
