In one fell swoop — in the wake of LenDale White's stunning release 35 days after being obtained in a trade with the Titans on the third day of this year's draft — it appears the Seahawks are back to square one at running back. With White losing weight, looking great and saying all the right things to the local media, a fair number of daily team observers had penciled him in as the Seahawks' most likely No. 1 back. But with White's actions painting a far different picture than his words, it didn't take long for head coach Pete Carroll and GM John Schneider to abruptly end White's reunion with his former coach at USC before it even started. White's release has resulted in RBs Julius Jones and Justin Forsett moving back to the top of the depth chart — at least for the time being. "They still want to add a physical presence (which they had hoped White would provide), but there don't appear to be a lot of options," the source said. Rumors persist that the team could go hard after former first-rounder Marshawn Lynch, who has made it clear how much he would love to escape Buffalo. "But the latest I'm hearing, is that the Bills do not want to get rid of him (Lynch)," the source said. "The Seahawks could revisit that, though, if the Bills are willing down the road. As for now, the Seahawks seem to see something in Julius Jones that nobody else does. Carroll loves Forsett, and they are planning to get (injured trade addition Leon) Washington back at some point. They also like Quinton Ganther, because he can play fullback in a pinch and runs hard."

I can't believe Julia is still on the roster, let alone going after the starting job.

Forsett has the edge on everything. He's faster, more agile, runs harder, is a more willing and able blocker, and a better receiver.

This is not good when you're the same type of back. Leon Washington is the same type too. One's gotta go. Make the right choice Petey.

What happened to Jones, he was on the right track last year for awhile, then just disapeared.

well, considering the whitehurst and white trades were 2 of the first moves of the new regime and white was already cut and whitehurst may be getting beat out by JP Losman on the depth chart, is anyone beginning to think this whole arrangement of Carroll and Schneider may end up being a disaster along the lines of Millen and Mornhinweg or were just these 2 instances just small blips on the radar ................... ???
