According to Chip Scoggins of the Minneapolis Star Tribune, Adrian Peterson was back at Winter Park on Monday as the Vikings get ready for their mandatory minicamp starting Friday. The NFL Network shot a video of Peterson and the rest of the running backs going through some drills. The running backs carried a 14-pound football filled with sand during one drill that the network showed. Reporter Solomon Wilcots described it as the football version of a medicine ball, designed to help the running backs get a better feel for the football and presumably help reduce fumbles. Vikings coach Brad Childress has said the team did an offseason study on how to help Peterson solve his fumbling problems.

Of course he's going to continue to fumble, it's football.. that's why he said "reduce". Tiki Barber made a major turn around in the fumble department in one off-season and I expect AD to do the same.

yep, it sounds like the vikes did their homework on the best ways to help AP reduce his fumbles. hopefully he will improve in that department.

No offense but I hate it when people use Tiki as the example every time someone brings up someone with fumble issues. He was the exception, not the rule, and it's really not like he turned it around overnight. He had major fumble issues his whole career until the last two years and worked on it THE WHOLE time. It wasn't like he had a couple bad seasons and then worked on it one offseason and boom it was all good, he had EIGHT YEARS of being a fumble monkey before something finally clicked and he got it together for his last two.

Let me tell you why i do the things i do. I say the worst things hoping that if i say the worst the best will happen lol. I know its stupid but hey best believe i am a very loyal vikings fan. I just say those things just to say it...like when people say well at least it cant get any worse but somethin worse happens, well i say it cant get any better and maybe it well. Just somethin dumb i do (if u understand what im sayin).

Ok smart-ass, i ment fumble just as much as he has been. Obviously he is going to fumble....but you are saying like there are guys who dont fumble, you know DeAngelo Williams hasnt fumbled from what i have heard, and if he has its literaly been like once(like means approximate since i see u like to nit pick) and im pretty sure Chris Johnson rarely fumbles too. So you can be a running back and not fumble or rarely fumble. Im just sayin..dont take this the wrong way.

    but on a serious note.....

it seems to me the heavier ball will cause him to carry the ball high and away from his body.....he needs to learn to carry it against his chest.
