My friend in CA was saying he felt the Chargers were the biggest CHOKE artist when playoff time rolls around. Is he right?? Any team have more times where they should have gone to the SB, but didn't?? Discuss.:icon_rolleyes:
Yeah.... although historically the run-n-shoot Oilers were arguably the worst.... I think it was 7 (8?) playoff berths in a row, never once made the conference game.
Yeah, well...a bigger surprise is calling a team with 5 Super Bowl wins a choker, but then you see who wrote it :icon_rolleyes:
The Vikings have to be put on that list if you are looking at the whole resume...they've had some monster chokes...4 Super Bowls. Gary Anderson - 1998. Last Season. To name a few.
Oilers, Viking, Eagles and Chargers all have very impressive resume's when it comes to choking in the post season, but overall, I think the Vikings have the edge due to their impressive commitment to the art over multiple decades.
I don't necessarily think the Chargers are choke artists yet. If you look at the history of the sport, teams have historically "ramped" up before their Super Bowl appearance. Recently though, teams have been making a run that has gone to and won the Super Bowl and I think that is what people expect nowadays.
no one has mentioned the bills ........ 4 straight SB losses ........... but, overall, since the merger, I'd give it to the Vikings. They are consistently in the playoffs and have never won a SB.
I considered that, but then re read her original question. It was what teams didn't make it to the SB.
well, then she must just be talking about recent history because almost every team has at least made it to a SB in the last 40 years other than the worst organizations and you can't call the lions choke artists when they rarely even make the playoffs ................ they just suck.
