Cowboys running back Tashard Choice, who has two years remaining on his rookie contract, has proven to be more than capable when injuries to Marion Barber or Felix Jones forced the coaches to increase Choice's role. The Cowboys should have control of Choice as a restricted free agent for at least one more season, depending on how the collective bargaining agreement negotiations shake out. ESPN writer Tim McMahon feels that the Cowboys will opt to go with Choice and Felix Jones next season, cutting Marion Barber in a cost-cutting move since all the guaranteed money in his contract will have been paid. If Barber gets banged up and struggles again, it wouldn't surprise McMahon if that transition happened down the stretch in 2010. Source: ESPN Dallas
the article says the cowboys would cut Barber ................. ??? couldn't they trade him and get something in return ?
Who in their right mind would trade for him? Secondly...if the Cowboys were to trade him they wouldn't get much for him. It is not worth the trouble...just cut him.
eh, the injuries may have made him a shell of himself. we'll just have to see, but i would think they could get something for the guy. i wouldn't think they would just need to cut him.
Its more his contract VS value to a team that kills his trade value In an uncapped year a team isnt gonna want his contract. In a capped year, we arent gonna want to take the cap hit
