Jets Interested In Ex-Raiders QB JaMarcus Russell?

One player the Jets are monitoring is the former Oakland Raiders bust JaMarcus Russell, who was cut recently after reportedly ballooning to 300 pounds according to Rich Cimini of ESPNNewYork.com. Russell, the No. 1 overall pick in 2007, is training in Arizona, trying to get in shape. The Jets have received positive reports, but don't jump to conclusions here. Their interest appears to be cursory; we're talking maybe one phone call. Sources say the Arizona Cardinals or the Minnesota Vikings are the most likely landing spot.

Sounds like Ryan might see the potential pick up as a guaranteed attention getting chapter in his up coming book.

    It's all about the sales...
