How does New England Patriots star quarterback Tom Brady keep his mechanics sharp? In addition to working with Patriots quarterbacks coach Bill O'Brien, Brady continues to work with his private quarterbacks coach, Brady has relied on Tom Martinez, a California-based quarterbacks coach, since his high school days in San Mateo, Calif. "Other than maybe his parents, people don't know what I do," Martinez told ESPN. "But he knows." Martinez began helping Brady in 1992 when the future All-Pro and Super Bowl winning quarterback was 15 years old. At one point, Brady had a broken finger and three broken ribs last season, according to Martinez. "He wasn't throwing well," Martinez said. "It's one of those things where I can see right away what he's doing. He trusts me, so when I tweak him, it's right back to where he wants to be. Then, at that point, it probably is psychological. .. "What I feel good about is when guys trust me enough to do it, and it actually works. There's a special relationship that's kind of unsaid between them and me. Guys don't say a lot to each other. On the other hand, you know what you did for them, and they know what you did for them. There's a respect." Per the report, Brady and wide receiver Wes Welker have worked with Martinez throughout this offseason. Source: Aaron Wilson, National Football Post
brady never snitched about being hurt...the fact of the matter is he was hurt and still had a really good year. he should have a great year upcoming but the mankins situation is a bit worrisome
Tom Brady had a good season last year? From what I saw, he was pretty bad in the Carolina game, and the Pats got bounced out of the playoffs by the Ravens.
Brady had a solid year by normal standards but he wasn't himself. it was obvious he hadn't played in a long time and that he was dinged up. we expect a lot out of Brady because of what he has shown in the past but he was still better than most of the QB's in the league even being rusty/hurt.
