Clifton Brown of sportingnews.com held a wide-ranging interview with Bills rookie C.J. Spiller recently and learned that the running back is willing to hold out of training camp if negotiations on his contract are not completed on time. "I let my agent handle all of that. We're not going to rush. We're going to make sure we cross our T's and dot our I's, however long the process takes. I just have to be patient. I can't get antsy about the situation. I've talked to a lot of veteran guys. My teammates aren't concerned about me holding out. They know that I want to be there, but at the end of the day it's a business. You have to do what's best for your family. It was good to get that support from veteran guys already — before negotiations have heated up." Spiller, the 9th pick in the first round and the first running back taken was somewhat of a contoversial pick in Buffalo due to the already crowded backfield of Marshawn Lynch and Fred Jackson and because of the Bills' other pressing needs. He was picked for his speed and cutting ability and was a great special teams player in college as well as a star running back. He says he is willing to catch punts and kicks in the NFL if asked to do so and has been practicing in OTAs. "Our main objective is to get the ball into the playmaker's hands." Another issue Brown and Spiller discussed is Buffalo's climate, Spiller doesn't seem concerned, saying he's played in 20-30 degree weather (that won't cut it in Buffalo) and the NFL has lots of equipment to keep players warm. "All I need is for my legs to stay warm — and my feet. I'll make sure I wear the proper gear. I tell people all the time, I can't control the weather in Buffalo so I'm not going to worry about it. I still have to get my job done."

i wouldnt be in a hurry to try and run behind that oline or get help from that passing game either.

around pick 7-12 is where holdouts usually happen, its where guys go that fell that could have gone top 3-5 (crabtree, andre smith, matt leinart) and its where players get reached for that could have gone in the 20s (derrick harvey) and want to maximize their dollar.
