Tripp Smith, Albert Haynesworth's personal trainer, said in a phone interview with Rich Campbell of the Fredericksburg Free Lance-Star that Haynesworth has lost 32 pounds since he started working out on April 5. He also said that Haynesworth is committed to getting in top physical shape in spite of it being away from Redskins Park--for the start of training camp on July 29. "I think he's going to open some eyes when he gets to camp," Smith said. "Albert, he's the type of person that doesn't want to disappoint anybody, but he's very business-minded. I think it has motivated him quite a bit, just seeing what his teammates are saying about him and seeing what everybody in the press is saying about him." Haynesworth has come under fire for not attending the Redskins offseason program. Haynesworth also requested a trade due to his unhappiness with the Redskins switching to a 3-4 defense. see, that's just the thing. he's probably purposely losing weight because the skins told him to ADD weight so that he could play NT ............ he isn't going to play NT so he is purposely shedding pounds to spite them.
He wouldn't even be playing NT. He would likely spend most of him time at end where he would be most effective. Having him at nose would just be a waste.
apparently you have different sources than I have because everything coming from the new skins regime over the past 4 months indicates he will mostly be playing NT ............. why do you think Haynesworth is requesting a trade? It's the whole basis of his complaint ..............
He will be playing some NT but I would expect him to be moved around a lot and for us to be showing a lot of different looks along the front all season. He seems to have issues with anything 3-4 related and won't even give it a chance by the looks of things. I think he could dominate at end if he's motivated.
oh, ok. you're just guessing how they would use him. well, i agree that they would move him around 'a little bit' in a 3-4, but a NT is a specialized position. He has 1 job and 1 job only ........... to eat up blockers. I firmly believe that with his weight loss, this is simply Haynesworth flipping the bird to the skins' idea of putting him at NT.
