Redskins running back Larry Johnson was dropped in the backfield on Friday by a judge in Kansas City who ripped him for his efforts or lack thereof in community service. Johnson was slapped with 40 hours of community service for two convictions of disturbing the peace, both convictions that started as assault charges against women. Johnson was reportedly required to work with kids at the Kansas City Police Athletic League but he refused to play sports with children and told officials he wanted to begin an art program. That didn't draw enough interest and never got going, but Johnson did bag nine hours of service, per the report. "Children who go to PAL don't go there for art class," Municipal Court Judge Joseph Locascio told Johnson. "The idea that you would draw pictures with kids who want to participate in athletics is absurd. If I knew you didn't want to do sports with kids, I would have assigned you to pick up trash on the highway. That's what we typically have defendants do." Johnson's attorney pointed out that his client put together a Thanksgiving dinner for 100 people at the PAL and purchased turkeys for other families as well as $2,500 in Christmas gifts but Locascio remained incensed that Johnson has not done what he was ordered to do as terms of his probation. "For a young kid playing sports, the opportunity to have contact with an NFL player is once in a lifetime," Locascio said. "That's why I'm so disappointed here. I thought you were going to spend time with the kids, and apparently you're not capable or interested in doing that."

It appears this judge doesn't read the newspapers. I'm sure he is the only one shocked by this.

Apparently 40 hours of something is just too much work for him. Seriously? How hard is this?

I hope he goes broke and has to see what a real work week is like sometime in his life.
