All signs continue to point to Jason Campbell being the starter in Week 1 with Bruce Gradkowski serving as the backup. As Jerry McDonald of the Oakland Tribune reports, it’s hard to imagine having Campbell, whose salary is nearly double that of Gradkowski, playing the role of No. 2. Few doubt that Gradkowski did a good job last season when he took over for JaMarcus Russell, but Campbell has the experience. Many coaches view him as a strong backup and he shouldn’t have a problem finding work in the NFL in that role.
