Panthers QB Jimmy Clausen Might Blow Shot To Start If Late To Camp

Panthers rookie QB Jimmy Clausen may lose his outside chance at the starting job in 2010 if he holds out for a big contract. Clausen will have to beat out second-string QB Hunter Cantwell before he can challenge Matt Moore for the starting job. Many expected Clausen to simply show up and be labeled as the backup, but Cantwell has been arguably the most impressive player in Panthers camp. Matt Moore is working on a one-year deal, and Clausen is seen as the QB of the future in Carolina -- but the future will have to wait as we don't expect Clausen to see the field until 2011.

IMO, Claussen shouldnt be in the convo as a starter this year anyways. He is an outstanding prospect, but he is not as Pro ready as some make him out to be
