Ravens coach John Harbaugh said he was "surprised" that Terrence Cody passed the team's conditioning test, one day after the 350-pound nose tackle was unable to do so. "Somebody asked me [yesterday] if I was surprised about guys failing conditioning tests. I’ll have to admit that I was surprised this morning when he passed the conditioning test," Harbaugh said. "But we have it on tape that will verify the results of the test." Linebacker Jarret Johnson and the defensive line cheered on Cody during the conditioning test. But Cody has also taken some ribbing from his teammates after he was unable to practice. Defensive tackle Haloti Ngata has nicknamed him "cheeseburger." Harbaugh said it was significant that Cody passed the test, which is basically six 25-yard sprints that have to be completed under a specified time. "Obviously it shows you that he was in shape," Harbaugh said. "He’s a little heavy right now. He’s got to lose little weight, but that will happen in training camp. But the fact that he’s in shape is important. That shows you that he’s done the work." "I don’t want to put a number on it," Harbaugh said. "We have that number and we’ll get him to that number. But that’s not something I want to share right now." Source: BaltimoreSun
Interesting...the only "conditioning test" is running 25 yards 6 times? Oh and Harbaugh was right Cody is in shape It's called an oval.
HAHAHAHA and all these Ravens fans were saying the conditioning test was hard. What a joke. I don't think he can be an oval when all that fat hangs down.
He's just a VERY large guy....he'll work in camp, find it the hardest thing he's ever done and shed tonnes of weight. Whether it stays off is another thing.....
25 yards six times in a specific time.......thats the key point I remember one of the things you had to do to get into STA be able to run a mile in a specific time. Sounds easy until you find out that specific time was under 6 minutes.
