Chiefs coach Todd Haley said in a radio interview Tuesday that coordinator Charlie Weis will call the majority of the team's offensive plays. Haley called plays last year after firing coordinator Chan Gailey less than two weeks before the regular season began. Haley, a former coordinator, said that although Weis will call most plays, the head coach won't be far away. "We're going to work together," Haley said. How Haley works with Weis will be among Haley's tallest tests this season since Weis is older and more experienced than Haley, a second-year head coach, which can be a difficult situation for someone trying to make his name and assert himself to his team. are you kidding? i understand why you dont like the chiefs but weis is gonna do big things with that offense, hes one of the best offensive gameplanners in the league. he was crap at ND because of defense and recruiting. hes gonna do big things with bowe, charles, jones, mcluster. i cant believe they passed on tate for mcluster AND arenas in the 2nd but they will see significant improvements on offense under weis's command

the head coach worked with a high powered arizona offense though, i doubt theres gonna be much conflict there. this is pioli's show anyway....haley is just a puppet

which is my point ....... if you have 2 of the biggest-name coordinators in the game working under a young unproven guy, there could be some conflict not only among the coaches but among the players and who they respect and side with ......... i'm not saying there IS going to be a problem, it's just something to keep an eye on if the chiefs continue to struggle ......
i think the defense will be better too with tyson jackson in his second year and dorsey played increasingly better as last season went on...but yeah their second round was questionable. if i was drafting for the chiefs i would taken cody and tate, hell if i was drafting for the steelers i would have taken them. throwing cody on that dline would have added some much needed mass
I agree on that I would've liked Tate, but no way on Cody. Of the film I've seen, he plays like a big blob. He can't seem to run more than 5 yards.
He was our OC in 2006 in Romo's first year too. We finished 5th in offense and scored 27 points per game. i wasnt saying hes a product of it, im saying hes coming from a good offense and has always been a passing play caller, which is the same with weis. i dont think there will be a conflict in gameplans thats 2 pretty good offensive minds working together. and neither guy is like a mike martz where working with him would make you want to gouge your eyes out cause its his way or no way. like i said though, they are all puppets for pioli anyway so it doesnt matter and dorseys only position on a 34 line should be at nose, and ive said for 2 years now i hope hes been watching tape of ratliff cause thats the kind of player hes gonna need to be
