Dallas Cowboys rookie wide receiver Dez Bryant, the team's first-round selection, suffered a sprained right ankle near the end of practice and will undergo an MRI on Friday night to determine the severity of the injury. Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones said the prized rookie will miss some practice time. Jones expressed optimism that Bryant would not be sidelined much longer than a few days. League sources, however, said Bryant most likely suffered a high ankle sprain, which would mean that Bryant would be out significantly longer. The injury occurred after cornerback Orlando Scandrick broke up a pass intended for Bryant on the second-to-last play of practice.

ESPN just reported he's out 4-6 weeks and he might miss the opener.

hi ankle sprains are a mofo.....he'll miss all of pre-season and won't be ready to play till the fourth game of the season. Im not worried about it because our receiver corps are deep than any other team.

I doubt he'll be out that long. Keep in mind we open the season the 12th

I think Max he misses the opener, and thats almost 6 weeks away

Who do you have for depth? You have Miles Austin and a phenomenal tight end, who else is good?

Its a serious question, I honestly don't know. Wasn't Roy Williams your number one receiver going into last year? To me that doesn't equal the best WR depth in the league.

Cowboys are strong at WR. Best WR depth in the league? No.

Austin is absolutely our #1. And even with the drops and the half assed routes, Roy is still a good #2. Ogletree is coming along, and we are also looking at Crayton who is a very solid slot WR. All in all we have a very strong WR group. And Dez is only gonna be out till week 2 tops. :icon_cool:

Not sure about the best in the league. But we definitely have a lot of talent.

THAT bigtime. He might only be OUT 4-6 or whatever, but he's not going to be back to full speed for a while with that high ankle.
