Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com reports the Seattle Seahawks and Peter Schaffer, the agent for first-round offensive tackle Russell Okung, are "not even close" on a deal. Based on the deals signed by Eric Berry (6-years, $60M; $34M guaranteed) and Joe Haden (5-years, $50M max; $26M guaranteed), Okung is looking at a guarantee of $27.5 and $33 million dollars, depending on contract length. The Seahawks are counting on Okung to start immediately at left tackle, and have not been shy about spending money on draft picks, so it's hard to envision these talks dragging on for too long.

i'm not sure how they can be 'far apart' when rookie money is set in stone depending on your draft position and expected position on the field........... i can understand being a couple of million apart here and there and maybe contract length but 'far apart' indicates they aren't even close, which can't be the case.
