According to Jamison Hensley of the Baltimore Sun, the Baltimore Ravens have released cornerback Walt Harris. Harris, who turns 36 next week, signed with the Ravens on July 7 after missing the entire 2009 season with a torn ACL. Harris opened camp on the "Active/PUP" and had missed several practices with a sore Achilles. A first-round pick (13th overall) out of Mississippi State by the Chicago Bears in the 1996 NFL Draft, Harris has 35 career interceptions in a 14-year career that has also included stints with the Indianapolis Colts, Washington Redskins, and San Francisco 49ers, where Harris spent the previous four seasons. Harris went to his only Pro Bowl in 2006, his first season with the 49ers. Source: Mac's Football Blog
Ahh man ya know I kind of felt like he was done but i was hoping he could contribute somehow. Hes a good guy and had a great 2006.
We put him on IR and then cut him because we won't need him in 2011. I hope Hawkins isn't who we're hoping to replace Harris with. EDIT: http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/blog/2010/08/walt_harris_is_cut.html
