NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has put a priority on looking for ways to reduce concussions among players, and the three-point stance could one day become extinct as a result. During his tour of eight training camps in six days, Goodell, along with Hall of Fame coach and broadcasting legend John Madden, visited the Browns’ headquarters Thursday afternoon. In a news conference, Goodell addressed the idea that the three-point stance might one day be prohibited for offensive and defensive linemen because it promotes helmet-to-helmet collisions. â€Coach Madden and I were talking about that a lot on the tour, and we’ve talked about it a lot in the past,†Goodell said. â€And it’s one of the areas that we’ll continue to look at. But it’s also interesting [because] we were talking about it in the context of the current game. You’re seeing a lot of that right now. There’s a lot less three-point stance because of the offensive formations and systems that teams are employing. I think we’ll continue to evaluate that, but I think it is a trend that’s changing already in our game.†Source: Akron Beacon Journal
Just break out the flags and make it touch already Raj. Holy pussification of a gladiator sport. Why not look into better head protection? There's products out there. Assbag.
They should also give the center 2 extra seconds before he can be touched in order to stand up and hand the ball to the qb and turn around again...
