Another offer is on the table. Now, the agents for All-Pro Darrelle Revis hope to serve up a new contract for the New York Jets' star cornerback. Neil Schwartz and Jonathan Feinsod met with general manager Mike Tannenbaum and director of football administration Ari Nissim last Friday, and offered them a written proposal to try to make some headway in the contract dispute. Revis has missed nine days, including Monday, since the team reported for training camp at SUNY Cortland. During the meeting at the Roscoe Diner in Roscoe, N.Y., Schwartz and Feinsod presented an offer to present to owner Woody Johnson. "We're waiting to hear their response," Schwartz told The Associated Press on Monday. Source: Associated Press
This crap pisses me off. This dude has three years left on his contract and can hold out for a better offer. How is this possible? I mean he didn't finish obligating his original contract. I know if I was an owner I would put in the contract that you aren't allowed to ask for another contract until you have 6 months left on the previous one. I mean come on 3 heckin years left on the one he has, but now he wants more? Bullcrap man the owners need to take the power back from these heckin turds!!
I totally agree with you THE RED this crap pisses me off as well. Actually a few more things piss me off too like Al Davis. If it wasnt for his bullcrap butt crazy Asomugha Contract, there probably would have been a problem, not saying Asomugha didnt deserve to get paid but that contract was ridiculous! Even though Revis has 3 years left on his contract, general manager Mike Tannenbaum and Revis camp both agree Revis outplayed his contract which means Revis has every right to ask for a New One. I hope all this bs ends real soon. Wait until the next best DT to show up (whoever that may be) and he will want that Haynesworth contract... Raiders and Redskins tend to over pay players a lot. Not saying those players werent/arent any good, just over paid. **********Automerged Doublepost********** Im sorry. in my post i meant to (there probably WOULD'NT have been a problem) **********Automerged Doublepost********** Say... Lol damn im just leaving words out left and right.
I think also it was Tannenbaum who told Revis they would get him a new deal, Revis didn't go pandering for one. Couple that with what Revis got to see happen to Leon Washington last season, who was supposed to be in line for a payday before he got injured and cut, and I can't blame Revis for this. Because in football you gotta get all you can while you can because it can all end on any play.
To make this all stop you just need to make it so players can't ask or don't get a new contract until the current one is 6 months from expiring. Outplay your current contract is goobered. Can owners get a new contract if players aren't playing up to contract standards? How dumb is this crap?
yea I agree with you. Maybe if you play out the rest of your current contract and play well and dont get in any trouble with the team maybe the new 1 will be what he wants
