In an interview Tuesday evening on 1050 ESPN Radio, GM Mike TannenbaumBonnie Bernstein if he'd consider trading holdout CB Darrelle Revis, Tannenbaum admitted he discussed it with coach Rex Ryan. "We've discussed that and we don't have any interest in trading the player," Tannenbaum said. So, no, they're not interested in dealing Revis, but it's interesting to know that the topic was broached behind closed doors. It may have been a brief conversation, but it was a conversation. Owner Woody Johnson was aske dropped an interesting nugget. Asked by co-host d the same question in an earlier interview on 1050, and he told a different version. "We haven't made that decision," he said of a possible trade, "but I doubt it." Source: ESPNNewYork.com
It wouldn't be such a bad idea to deal Revis....if he does hold out for the 2010 season. If Wilson flourishes in Revis' absence and Cromartie bounces back in a new system, Darrelle could suddenly become expandable. The relationship between Revis and the Jets could be beyond repair if he doesn't play this season. The Jets would most certainly land some pretty high draft choices in any Revis deal that would help restock their team and get younger at certain positions of need.
Show some balls and trade him. You just drafted a CB in the first, and you landed Cro Ryan and Tannenbaum are rodless if Revis plays another down in NY
If he does plan on sitting out all of 2010 you might as well trade him away. cause all he is gonna do this year is take up roster space.
When you have the best CB in the league, you pay him and be happy to have to pay him that cash. It's all posturing....
