Former Oakland Raiders quarterback JaMarcus Russell's legal predicament may have taken a positive turn today. A childhood friend of Russell's named Marcus Stevenson was handcuffed and likely to be charged with possession of a controlled substance after telling the judge that it was his codeine that was discovered during a police raid at Russell's house last month in Mobile, Ala., according to the Mobile Press-Register. "He was willing to step forward and tell the truth," Stevenson's lawyer, Greg Evans. Russell is stil facing a charge of possession of a controlled substance at this point. I think only athletes and entertainers get special treatment. He's not an athlete anymore, so now they both go to jail.
