Jay Glazer reports via Twitter that Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Percy Harvin is scheduled to see a specialist about his migraines this weekend. Coach Brad Childress is "optimistic" that Harvin may practice next week, but the Vikings will take all necessary precautions. "This is a puzzle we have no idea when it will be solved. It's a tough deal," Childress said. Source: Jay Glazer, Twitter
But seriously, if a player was legally approved for medical marijuana for an issue like chronic migraines (pretty common), would/should the league be allowed to discipline them for failing drug screens?
He's seen specialists before, spent some time at the Mayo Clinic last year, so I'm not optimistic about them finding a solution this time.
Regardless of what he's seen, get the crap under control, see who you have to see, 12 specialists if necessary. Scary crap...
I think you would have to smoke when you have the migraine which if it was during a game could possible make him pretty ineffective on the field. Marijuana may take away the migraine at that time, but it isn't a long term treatment and doesnt get rid of them.
Don't be naive. It isn't a long term treatment? Name one that is?? There isn't a long term treatment, only heavy doses of pills. I am not saying that weed is the answer, but don't get all high(no pun intended) and mighty on us dude. Back to Percy... I just hope he gets his under control. If any of you have ever suffered from a real migraine you can vouch that it isn't something fun. It is almost as bad as kidney stones. It will put you in the fetal position until it is gone. I wish the best for this guy, this stuff is no joke. Good luck Percy.. **********Automerged Doublepost********** After rereading my post I kinda sound crapty. I wasn't trying to be an butt. So if it was taken that way my apologies.
