Sam Bradford could take over as the St. Louis Rams' starting quarterback in the next preseason game, although the promotion would be by default. A.J. Feeley injured his thumb and elbow in the first quarter of a 19-17 victory at Cleveland on Saturday night, and was scheduled to undergo an MRI exam on the thumb. The Rams have a short week, playing again Thursday night at New England. Bradford, the No. 1 pick of the draft, was the backup the first two preaseason games. He didn't have a scintillating game against the Browns, going 6 for 14 for only 24 yards.

  2. Another era for the Rams launched in the preseason because of injury....Kurt Warner in 1999 & Sam Bradford in 2010.

Two totally different scenarios however....."The Greatest Show On Turf" V2 won't be happening under Bradford, not this soon and maybe not ever. And Bradford was going to start eventually during the season but this will open the door for him to start on opening day.

And A.J. Feeley is certainly no Trent Green either....

The worrying thing is that after the first two preseason games I was more impressed with Feeley.

Either way, it's going to be yet another looooooong season.

Why not see what he can do against a first team defense in preseason? Smart move.
