St. Louis Rams wide receiver Donnie Avery has left the exhibition game against the New England Patriots with a right knee injury. Avery, who led Rams wide receivers with 47 catches last year, was hurt with 1:32 left in the first half Thursday night. He jumped for Sam Bradford’s long pass down the right sideline, fell and clutched his right knee as the ball dropped incomplete. Before Avery was carted off the field, Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker went over and extended his hand. Welker is playing again after having surgery for a torn ligament in his left knee in February.

Geez. Hope he's OK. That would suck for the Rams.

Well he's done for the year, absolutely devastating news for Donnie as been promising despite of the situation he is in, and there's nothing worse than a torn knee ligament for a speed guy.

And now, this news is leaving us with anyone out of Laurent Robinson, Keenon Burton, Mardy Gillyard and Danny Amendola for the two spots. I seriously thing the team is in worst shape than last years 1-15 outfit. Detroit is going to have a challenger, sadly.
