Javon Walker said last week that he feels 23 again and he certainly looked spry on an acrobatic 25-yard touchdown catch Saturday night. Playing in his first game in a Vikings uniform, the wide receiver made a leaping catch in the end zone between two defenders in the fourth quarter of a 24-13 victory against the Seattle Seahawks. "It's been a long time waiting," he said. "But I always knew it was there. To come here with a team like this one, it feels great to contribute and try and add on to what they're doing. This is a great team, and I just want to be a part of their success." The Vikings signed Walker last week as emergency insurance because of Sidney Rice's hip injury and Percy Harvin's migraine problems. Walker, 31, is a former Pro Bowl receiver (in 2004 with the Packers) whose career was derailed in recent years by knee injuries and inconsistency. His touchdown catch brought some optimism from Favre, who helped lobby the Vikings to sign Walker. "The catch that Javon made, that's a pretty outstanding catch," Favre said. "We really needed to see that. I've played with Javon, and those are the kind of plays that he's made. Like I told him when we brought him in, 'If you can get half the magic back that you had, it'll be pretty good.'" Source: Star-Tribune
he had a great training camp last season i thought he would of been good but i guess big al black balled him i dont understand why he didnt play last season it was stupid to keep him on the bench im rooting for him to do well in minnesota
" i dont understand why he didnt play last season it was stupid to keep him on the bench" Ummmmmm, because Crazy Al is coocoo for cocoa puffs.........
I don't know if he makes an impact on the field. He will make the team a the fourth or fifth WR on the depth chart and will get some playing time on long plays where we are looking for a deep pass but he certainly isn't going to be the #1 or #2 or even #3 WR on this team.
