The career of wide receiver Antonio Bryant could be in jeopardy because of recurring knee problems that date to the 2009 season, two NFL sources say. In a surprising move, the Cincinnati Bengals released Bryant on Sunday, a strong indication that Bryant is unlikely to be healthy anytime soon. "He barely practiced in training camp and now this happens," said a league source with knowledge of Bryant's knee problems. "The guy can't stay healthy at this point. He gets to the point that he's feeling good, then it swells on him again. When that keeps happening, that's a very strong indication that there are structural problems." Bryant had offseason surgery on the knee and signed a four-year, $28 million deal with the Bengals in March. He told reporters during camp that the muscles around the knee weren't strong enough to support the surgically-repaired joint. This happened after the Bengals' medical staff saw Bryant before training camp and pronounced him in good enough shape to practice. Source: Yahoo! Sports
How the hell did I know this would happen? You guys heard it from me. **********Automerged Doublepost********** You guys heard it from me first.
"recurring knee problems that date to the 2009 season" 1 season and it's called recurring? "In a surprising move, the Cincinnati Bengals released Bryant on Sunday" Surprising? TO WHO? "Bengals' medical staff saw Bryant before training camp and pronounced him in good enough shape to practice." You paid a guy a crapload, rushed him back after surgery, and wonder why he won't heal? Nice job, Bengals! What idiot wrote this article? Yahoo Sports is blocked for me at work. I bet Jason Cole wrote this. He's the worse writer for football news on Yahoo.
Did he ever really have a career?? 2 good years is all I can remember and one of them only came the last 7 games maybe. If he wasn't hurt he was either suspended or not on a roster cuz nobody wanted him. Honestly...will he be missed?? Nah...
Skill position (and I guess all) players who bounce around to so many teams in short careers do so for legitimate reasons, and he's one of them. Who has ever done that successfully? No one comes to my mind
