John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reports Neil Rackers has won the Houston Texans' kicking competition. That means Kris Brown will be moved off the roster before Saturday's 6pm ET deadline. Brown, who began his professional career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, was the last member of the Texans' inaugural 2002 team. The Texans signed Rackers to a two-year deal in April. A sixth-round pick (169th overall) out of Illinois by the Cincinnati Bengals in 2000, Rackers spent three seasons in Cincinnati before joining the Cardinals in 2003.

Sad to see the last original Texan gone but you can't be blowing games weeken week out like he did last season.
The only thing that sucks is that he was $ for all those years until it counted last season.
I'll be the first to say it wasn't his fault that the Texans didn't make the playoffs but you got to hit those easy money shots.
