Plenty of people, including teammates, have spoken up against Albert Haynesworth. Now, with it looking like the Washington Redskins could push the defensive lineman out the door in a trade, the ultimate admission that he was the biggest free-agent flop in the history of the NFL, Donovan McNabb has spoken up. Specifically, the Redskins quarterback has said the team “can’t win without him.†Good luck convincing coach Mike Shanahan, defensive coordinator Jim Haslett and general manager Bruce Allen of that. Rick Maese of the Washington Post reports that McNabb took to the defense of the embattled $100 million man this morning on ESPN 980 in Washington. “He plays a major part in our defense and everbody knows that," McNabb said. “Albert is one of our brothers in the locker room. He understands, `Hey, I got to put the time and effort in.’ We can't win without him. I think he'll be here. I hope he'll be here.†Source: National Football Post
'We can't win without him' ................... ??? .................. sorry, Donovan, I think you got that backwards ............. with the effort he's giving, you can't win WITH him ..................
He is saying that because he is going to do horrible and he just wants to pin it on Haynesworth...I love it.
So when Haynesworth is traded, that means the entire team is sunk? Pretty dumb statement from the team's supposed leader. Trust me -- this guy is already trying to formulate a built-in excuse on why the Redskins aren't going to be good this year and how it isn't going to be his fault.
Oh lord McNabb.....is he such a punk that he has to always give us the bland, homogenized "correct answer"? He's my poster-child for what sucks about the no-balls generation. I would have loved to have seen the answer a Ken Stabler or Jim McMahon would have given. Nut up already and be the man. It's been what....12 years already?
He's been the man for 11 years. He's supporting a team mate. What's so freaking wrong about that? Post like the above are SO ill informed that they are ludicrous.
One player doesn't make a team Donnie. Although, Albert has been a HUUUUUGGGGGEEEE part of the Redskins D this summer. HUGE part!! So maybe you're right...
