Quarterback Matt Leinart has officially joined the Houston Texans. The former Heisman Trophy signed a one-year contract Tuesday. He was cut by the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday and agreed to terms with the Texans earlier this week. The 27-year-old Leinart will be the No. 3 quarterback on the Texans behind Matt Schaub and Dan Orlovsky. Leinart told KRIV-TV in Houston on Monday that he's looking forward to working with Texans coach Gary Kubiak, who has a reputation for developing quarterbacks. "I am really excited to work with Gary," Leinart told KRIV. "His résumé with quarterbacks and what he's done with Matt [Schaub] is really intriguing. I thought he would of been the number 2 quarterback. I personally dont understand why he isnt. maybe cause he is a new comer to the team, Matt Schaub is easily the starter but then the 2nd string ive never heard of.
Thats exactly it....Leinart has an entire new playbook to digest and their first game is in less than a week.
